Tracy Ogden-Cork - BAS, BArch, MArch (Hons)

Motu Design is a specialist urban design agency established in 2005 by Tracy Ogden-Cork.

From 2005 - 2025 Motu Design provided urban design, strategic planning and landscape design services for a wide range of clients, including community groups, Auckland Council and many private sector developers.

Grounded in the principles of respect, collaboration, creativity and inspiration, our expert team have helped shape the design and development of many places, and projects across Tāmaki Makaurau as part of complex Resource Consents, Plan Changes and Town Centre strategies. Including residential and commercial developments in Long Bay, Albany Centre, Avondale, Flatbush, Wai o Taiki Bay, Warkworth and Auckland City Centre.

Tracy's 2009 Masters of Arhitecture Thesis was on Tikanga Māori and Urban Design. She was also a member of the Auckland Urban Design Panel from 2005 - 2024, before taking up permanent employment with Auckland City Council at the end of 2024.

Research and Advocacy

Tracy and the Motu Design team value research and advocay. They have taught at the University of Auckland, in the School of Architecture and Planning; been an active participants in researching and promoting affordable housing solutions for Māori; and continue to advocate for better quality urban development to meet the needs of urban communities in Aotearoa.

Tracy continues to support her community with submissions on plan changes, local government policies, community-led regenerative design initiatives, and advocacy as part of the Avondale Racecourse Alliance .
