Hamlin Road Terraced Housing Development

A sixteen unit residential development, comprised of three blocks of three storied terraced houses.  The site is located on a triangular shaped rear site, accessed down a long driveway from the street. There is no street frontage, however there is a frontage to Hamlin Park, which lies along the eastern boundary of the site. The park-front units will have a pleasant outlook over the park, and will provide a positive frontage and overlooking of the park to improve safety.

 

Motu Design worked closely with Gel Architects to design the overall site layout, that considers orientation of units to ensure a sunlight, privacy and amenity, as well as contributing to the internal layout of the units to allow flexibility for different living arrangements.

 

Two communal landscaped spaces are provided within the site, one with a barbeque and outdoor seating area located to the north of the site and surrounded by specimen tree, hedge and groundcover planting, and a communal orchard with fruit trees, edible hedging and seating.
