Resource Consent granted in 2016.

 

A residential development on a  Xm2 existing residential site in east Auckland that is an amalgamation of 2 existing sites with driveway access off Abbotts Way.

The proposed 3 storey terrace houses are x bedroom with a garage at ground level arranged around a centralised green area.

The building layout, vehicle access and pedestrian circulation is designed to respond to the the existing vehicle entry and exit points, the slope of the site, the existing vegetation and the location of the overland flow path.

 

Motu design provided urban design services, working collaboratively with the project team on the design of the proposal (Dec 2016).

 

The project successfully integrates the needs for clear circulation and amenity within the challenges of the site and neighbouring properties. The creation of an internal courtyard area builds on the natural features of the site and becomes a focal point and an area of amenity for the units. This area also helps to screen the views between the units and maintain the suburban character of this part of Auckland.
